The Brazilian primarily plays as a centre-forward but can also be deployed as a second striker. He has great control over the ball, dribbling skills, and pace, and provides a high work-rate. Notably, he also remains calm under pressure and does well in tight spaces.
Though Liverpool are atop of the points table in the Premier League as well as the Champions League, they still need more firepower in the final third. Darwin Nunez has struggled with form so far and there is uncertainty over the futures of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
Hence, the Reds want to sign Joao Pedro to strengthen their attacking unit. As the player is already proving himself at Brighton, he will require no time to adapt to the Premier League. His versatility and quality in the initial third will be extremely useful.
However, Liverpool might not prefer signing him in the January window and wait for next summer. The player is rated around €70 million by Brighton. With multiple major European clubs interested in Pedro, signing him won’t be an easy task to execute, especially in January.
