Real Madrid’s hopes of securing Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool in January have faced a significant setback, as the English club has made it clear they have no intention of selling the player at this time.
According to MARCA, despite the ongoing interest from Madrid, who have shown a strong desire to sign the talented full-back, Liverpool have firmly rejected the idea of parting ways with him during the upcoming transfer window.
The situation is complicated by the fact that Liverpool’s management is not willing to entertain any offers from Real Madrid.
The club’s stance is that they are not looking to sell Alexander-Arnold, particularly in the middle of what is shaping up to be an important season.

With both the Premier League and the Champions League in their sights, Liverpool consider selling him midway would hamper their campaign, especially given the crucial role Alexander-Arnold plays in their plans for the season.
The defender will return to training with Liverpool today, and the club is also reportedly working on securing an extension to his current contract, which is set to expire in June.
This move would ensure that the player stays with the club long-term, and efforts to reach a new agreement will likely intensify in the weeks ahead.
For Real Madrid, this is not the first time they have been rebuffed in their pursuit of the player. After their initial approach was rejected, Madrid are expected to make another attempt, this time offering around €15 million.
However, if Liverpool turn down this offer as well, Madrid will likely wait until the summer to secure a deal for Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer, once his contract expires.
While Madrid remain determined to add Alexander-Arnold to their squad, Liverpool’s current position means that any potential transfer in January appears unlikely.
It now looks as though the English full-back’s future may be decided in the summer when he could potentially move to Madrid without any transfer fee involved.
