The brass at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid have been knocked back in an approach to bring Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold in this coming month.
That’s according to Liverpool insider Paul Joyce of The Times, who has on Tuesday provided a fresh insight into the situation.
The name of defender Alexander-Arnold has of course dominated the headlines across all of Europe over the course of the last week.
This comes amid mounting claims that the England international is inching ever closer to a move to Spain with Real Madrid.
Ahead of the expiration of his contract at Anfield next summer, Alexander-Arnold has made his way to the very top of the wishlist of Florentino Pérez and co.
Los Blancos are desperate for reinforcements at right-back owing to the long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal, with TAA considered the perfect profile.
So much so that, as per the aforementioned Paul Joyce, Real recently tabled an offer for the 26-year-old.
As much came with a view to bringing Alexander-Arnold in for a cut-price fee in January.
Liverpool, however, in the midst of a historic campaign to date, knocked the proposal back without so much as a 2nd thought.
The Spanish champions will, in turn, now shift their focus towards finding a pre-contract agreement with the player and his entourage for the summer.
