Liverpool star’s father responds to Real Madrid links | OneFootball

The father of Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister has this week spoken out on the speculation linking his son with a potential transfer to Real Madrid.

The name of midfielder Mac Allister, for those not aware, has proven a prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent days.

This comes after word was forthcoming that those behind the scenes at Real Madrid had held internal discussions regarding a possible future move for the Argentine.

Mac Allister is held in high regard at the Santiago Bernabéu, admired for his abilities in and out of possession alike.

Speaking during an appearance in front of the media on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the prospect of his son taking his talents to Spain in the near future was put to Mac Allister senior.

In quotes provided to Winwinallsports, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, however, the World Cup winner’s father moved to reiterate Mac Allister’s commitment to the cause at Anfield:

“Nothing to comment. Alexis is very happy at Liverpool, he’s under contract and wants to win there. It’s important to respect the club he’s playing for, any comment from us would be unnecessary.”
