As the Premier League title race enters its defining stretch, Liverpool head to Craven Cottage on Sunday with a maximum of 13 points needed to clinch the crown. While Arne Slot’s side kept their foot firmly on the gas with a midweek Merseyside derby win, this weekend’s clash with Fulham poses some intriguing questions — both in terms of team selection and player availability.
Top of the list is the status of Alisson Becker. The Brazilian returned early from international duty with a suspected concussion and was absent from the squad that defeated Everton. Slot offered an update in his pre-match press conference, sticking firmly to medical protocols:
“With Ali, it is simple: it is a concussion and you have to tick all the boxes. The moment he does, he will be in goal. The moment he doesn’t, we are following the protocol.”

His absence would once again mean Caoimhín Kelleher stepping in, a role he has performed admirably this season. But with the title potentially within touching distance, Slot will be eager for his number one to return to action — if cleared by the medical team.
Another area under scrutiny is the right side of defence. With Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez both ruled out for the coming weeks, Slot turned to Curtis Jones as a makeshift full-back against Everton. It’s a role the midfielder handled well, and his versatility may again be called upon — depending on the fitness of Conor Bradley.
Bradley is back in training following a hamstring injury but has not featured since February. His return could restore natural balance to the right flank, though Slot remained cautious:
“Conor, we have to wait and see if he is ready to be with the squad for Sunday. Then of course Curtis is an option because he did well, but I think Jarell [Quansah] did well a few times in that position also. Let’s wait and see which decision we make on Sunday.”

That quote underlines a broader theme with Slot’s Liverpool — tactical adaptability paired with squad depth. Whether it’s Quansah stepping in or Jones continuing his reinvention, there’s a growing sense of resilience in this Reds outfit.
Liverpool’s midfield and attacking units are expected to remain unchanged. Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister continue to provide the balance between control and creativity, while Dominik Szoboszlai’s energy knits together transitions into attack.

Up front, Mohamed Salah remains the focal point, flanked by the increasingly influential Cody Gakpo and the relentless Diogo Jota. With Luis Díaz and Darwin Núñez available from the bench, Liverpool’s options remain potent.
While Fulham find themselves mid-table, Marco Silva’s side have built a reputation for frustrating bigger opponents, especially at Craven Cottage. Compact in shape and tidy in possession, they’ll look to capitalise on any signs of fatigue or experimentation in Liverpool’s XI.
Kick-off is at 2pm BST on Sunday, live on Sky Sports. With just five league matches to play after this one, the Premier League title is within reach — but Slot knows every decision now carries weight.
