Paris Saint-Germain have focused on signing young, promising talent in recent transfer windows, but Luis Enrique and Luis Campos understand the importance of adding experienced players—provided they align with the club’s culture and system.
One area PSG could look to strengthen is defense, especially with Milan Skriniar likely to leave permanently this summer following his winter move to Fenerbahçe.
Instead of making a splash on a high-profile signing, PSG might consider a short-term deal with a familiar opponent. Virgil van Dijk is nearing the end of his contract, and reports indicate he’s on PSG’s radar.
Anfield Watch previously reported that PSG are preparing an €80 million offer over two years for Liverpool’s captain, with an option for a third season. A sizable signing bonus could push the total value to €100 million.

According to Fijaches (h/t TEAMtalk), Van Dijk feels it’s time for a change, as the lack of recent success has impacted his motivation.
The report suggests that PSG are the most talked-about destination for Virgil van Dijk in recent days. The French club, always looking to strengthen their defense, see him as a unique opportunity to sign on a free transfer.
Despite strong competition, PSG are highly interested in bringing Van Dijk to the Parc des Princes as part of their top-level project.
With the possibility of a free transfer, interest in Van Dijk has surged, attracting several European clubs. However, PSG appear to have the edge, given their growing interest and the attention Van Dijk has received recently.
David Ornstein of The Athletic previously reported that everyone involved is downplaying the possibility of Van Dijk moving to PSG, adding that Liverpool are confident he will sign an extension.
More recently, ESPN’s Julien Laurens echoed that sentiment, stating that a deal isn’t close—despite a video surfacing last week of the Liverpool captain with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos.
