The Crystal Palace midfielder is a potential transfer target for the Reds, according to Greek outlet SDNA.
Milivojevic has spent five and a half seasons at Selhurst Park, with the Eagles a top flight side throughout that stint.
Now that Forest are joining Patrick Vieira’s side in the premiere division of English football, that could be the kind of experience that Steve Cooper’s side targets this summer.
The 31-year old featured only 15 times in the league last season, but has been an important part of their side during Roy Hodgson’s tenure previously.
What do we know so far?
Forest won promotion to the Premier League by earning victory over Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium.
But Cooper’s side is built on loan signings and young players who lack top flight experience.
The Reds are now looking to add that kind of experience to the side this summer, with Milivojevic a target for a permanent move away from Palace.

The Serbian has played 177 times for the London club since signing from Olympiacos in 2017.
The SDNA report suggests that initial contact has been made between the two clubs over a possible deal.
Milivojevic only has 12 months left on his current contract, which could boost Forest’s chances of a deal being struck.
Is it likely to happen?
This is a move that certainly could happen if Forest’s interest is as concrete as it sounds.
The veteran midfielder would be a solid addition to the side and would bring plenty of knowhow to this team.
He could act as a dressing room leader in what will likely be a difficult campaign filled with plenty of setbacks.
