The former Italy international scored 33 goals for Milan during his playing career, 29 of which were in league matches.

“A great team victory. Happy to reach 30 goals with Milan and make history with this club. I’m sorry Maldini, but you had told me,” Theo wrote in his latest Instagram post, sharing a picture from the team bus and one with Maldini, taken when the ex-Milan defender was a club director.

Maldini’s reply came thick and fast as he wrote: “You are great, Theo,” adding a heart emoji.

Maldini signed Theo Hernandez for Milan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.

The pair won a Serie A title in 2021-22. At the end of the following campaign, the club sacked Maldini.

Theo has scored four goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances across all competitions this season.
