Desire Doué has caught the attention of many in recent months, with standout performances against Liverpool and Aston Villa drawing interest from fans who don’t typically follow Paris Saint-Germain.
The young Frenchman played a key role in PSG’s win over Liverpool, converting the decisive penalty in the shootout to knock the English side out of the UEFA Champions League.
In the next round, Doué struck again, scoring a brilliant equalizer against Aston Villa in the first leg. PSG went on to win 3-1. With the teenager showing such composure in high-pressure moments, it’s no surprise that top European clubs are starting to take notice.

TEAMtalk previously reported that Manchester City are looking to make a bold move for Doué, with Manchester United and two other Premier League clubs also showing keen interest in the young talent.
Pep Guardiola is reportedly a big fan of Doué and is eager to bring him to the Etihad. City scouts have been keeping a close eye on his recent performances, attending several of matches in recent months.
Doué’s versatility—able to play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder—along with his technical skills and creativity, has made a strong impression on City’s recruitment team, according to the report.
Despite this rumor, Le Parisien’s Laurent Perrin has ruled out Doué leaving the Parisians after one season.
“No, PSG will not lose Désiré Doué this summer,” Perrin noted (h/t Le10Sport). “The player has no intention of leaving, and PSG has no intention of selling him. Doué is the breakout star of the year. He’s flourishing, he’s happy, and his managers are fully satisfied with his performance and behavior.
“He’s under contract until 2029, and where could he be better than at PSG? In Paris, he has a coach who trusts him, a team that allows him to reach the final stages of the Champions League… Doué and PSG, it’s a happy marriage.”
