Manchester United’s Youth Cup semi-final tie has been announced for Monday 31st March.

The Red Devils have won the tournament more than any other team, winning it on 11 occasions.

United last won the tournament in 2022 when they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Old Trafford with two goals from Alejandro Garnacho.

Kobbie Mainoo was also part of the Youth Cup winning team and just like Garnacho, is now an important member of the senior squad.

The Red Devils have been in sumptuous form this year in the tournament, scoring five goals against all of Coventry City, Preston North End and Chelsea at home.

The free-scoring Reds then overcame a stubborn Arsenal side 3-2 in extra-time at the Emirates Stadium in the quarter-final.

The club’s official website reports that “Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup semi-final at Aston Villa will be played at Villa Park on Monday 31 March (19:00 BST).”

“Tickets are being managed by the home club, Aston Villa. They will cost £5 and are on sale from 17:00 GMT on Wednesday 19 March.”

The club also announced that “away supporters are encouraged to buy tickets in blocks B3 and B2 to allow our fans to congregate.”

United under-18s are second in the north league with an imperious 15 wins from 18 matches. Villa are fifth in the south division, six points behind leaders Crystal Palace.

The other semi-final match will be between Watford and Manchester City at Vicarage Road on Thursday 10th April.

Therefore, there is the prospect of an all-Manchester final in the Youth Cup, just like in the senior FA Cup in 2023 and 2024.

Certain youngsters involved in the Youth Cup squad have already tasted senior action this season with numerous players called up to the bench last month and Chido Obi has already made 4 appearances from the bench for Ruben Amorim’s team.
