Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, but they should be prepared to fork out a seizable sum.
As we’re all aware at this stage, the Red Devils are determined to sign at least one top-notch attacker in the summer. After all, Marcus Rashford hasn’t been replaced following his loan move to Aston Villa, and he’ll be definitely sealing a permanent transfer in the summer as long as Ruben Amorim is at Carrington.
Moreover, Rasmus Hojlund has been enduring torrid times as of late, even though he finally managed to put a merciful end to his 21-match drought by finding the back of the net against Leicester City last Sunday.
Hence, United are monitoring several solutions. Sky Sport DE journalist Florian Plettenberg has recently revealed a four-man shortlist that includes Victor Osihmen, Viktor Gyokeres, in addition to Bundesliga duo Sesko and Hugo Ekitike.

German journalist Christian Falk has now confirmed the club’s interest in the two young strikers. However, he warms that Arsenal are also keen to land Sesko, while Newcastle United are also lurking.
“Arsenal is heavily linked with Benjamin Sesko. Also, from our view, at Leipzig, they know it’s very realistic that he’s going to leave the club in the summer,” wrote the transfer market insider in his latest column for The Daily Briefing.
“They would talk with €70m on the table. Frankfurt are demanding €80m for Hugo Ekitike, so if someone is willing to pay this price they can sign him. I think these two players will be in the Premier League this summer but the question is which club!
“Newcastle will search for a new striker, whilst Manchester United are currently searching. We don’t yet know if Alexander Isak to Liverpool will work, so there are three clubs in the mix with two prominent Bundesliga strikers on the table ahead of the summer window.”
This three-club race sets the stage for a couple of interesting transfer sagas. But it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will decide to launch a genuine onslaught for Sesko and Ekitike, or instead focus on more proven profiles like Osimhen and Gyokeres.
