Manchester United are reportedly ahead in the race to sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, according to Sky Sports.

Poor results led to manager Erik ten Hag’s dismissal earlier in the season, and United quickly appointed Ruben Amorim from Sporting CP.

United’s lack of attacking quality, especially on the wings, has been a major issue.

During the winter transfer window, Marcus Rashford and Antony were loaned to Aston Villa and Real Betis, respectively.

Their absence has forced United to depend heavily on Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo in wide areas.

However, Diallo suffered an injury which further weakened their attacking options in the second half of the campaign.

United are hoping to sign Semenyo to boost their attacking options.

Semenyo has been one of the key players for Andoni Iraola’s side this season, delivering several strong performances in attack.

The Ghanaian international has scored 11 goals across all competitions and has impressed with his pace and work rate.

Ruben Amorim is a big fan of the 25-year-old and is already planning how he could fit into his system.

Bournemouth are unwilling to lose Semenyo easily and have reportedly placed a £70 million price tag on him.

Semenyo signed for the Cherries from Bristol City for £10.5 million in January 2023.

He signed a new deal last year, keeping him at the club for another four years and giving Bournemouth full control over his future.

Manchester United are not the only club interested, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also monitoring the situation closely.

United will hope their early interest can help convince Semenyo to join them this summer.
