Celtic’s excellent start to the season continued tonight at Pittodrie, where a battling performance earned yet another three points for the champions.
Brendan Rodgers’ men had to contend with an Aberdeen side who hadn’t been beaten at home this season along with dreadful weather conditions in the north-east.
A well-worked moment of brilliance secured the victory, as Reo Hatate found the net from Greg Taylor’s assist, and speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said that he was proud of the team for how they approached the game.
“It’s a brilliant victory for us,” he said. “It’s arguably the most difficult conditions you can have.
"Driving rain, wind. It was really difficult, and I think both teams tried to give their best.
'I’m really proud of my team because we tried to play our football.'
"We end up getting a brilliant goal. A great team move, a wonderful pass from Greg Taylor and Reo finishes it so well.
"And in the moments when we had to defend, the two centre halves and goalkeeper were so strong and collectively it was a great win for us."
The win puts Celtic seven points clear of second-placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, with Brendan Rodgers’ side on an impressive unbeaten run domestically.
And Brendan was keen to praise the mindset of the players as they kicked-off December with a victory.
He added: “There’s such a long way to go still. At this moment in time it’s our 14th game, there’s still 24 games to go.
“But I have to credit the players, they’re showing a really strong mentality, a real ambition going in to the games and we’re getting the results and performances.
