Ola Aina, who started his career at Chelsea, failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge. Hence, he moved to Torino before joining Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in the summer of 2023. His return to the Premier League has been fruitful as of now.

Aina has managed to put on impactful performances for the Tricky Trees. He has featured across 19 games this season so far, finding the back of the net twice. He is averaging 2 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, and 2.3 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The Nigerian full-back is versatile enough to operate on either wing. He is solid, does timing tackles, and provides stability in the backline. At the same time, he can be impactful going higher on the pitch as he possesses dribbling and key passing attributes.
Manchester City understand that they have to bring a replacement for Kyle Walker in near future. The English international is already 34 and his age is now getting better of him. His recent performances have been horrible, lacking consistency as well.
To fill Walker’s place, the Citizens are planning to bring Ola Aina, whose Premier League return has been good enough. The latter has managed to make impactful displays on the pitch and also contribute to the offensive front.
Aina’s flexibility to operate on both wings will be welcomed warmly by Pep Guardiola. However, it remains unclear whether the 28-year-old will fancy to move to Manchester City or not. The player’s contract runs out at the end of the season and denying the English champions will be a tough decision for any player.
