Multiple sources have confirmed that Fabio Paratici is on the verge of joining Milan as their new sporting director, but the latest reports indicate that the two parties are still working to reach an agreement on a clause the club wants to include as a precautionary measure.

The former Juventus director has emerged as the leading candidate for the new role the Rossoneri are looking to add to their board. While he and the club are said to have reached a verbal agreement, there still appears to be an obstacle to overcome.

Paratici is currently serving a 30-month ban, formally ending in July 2025, due to the Caso Plusvalenze, an investigation into fictitious capital gains during his time at Juventus.

However, the Caso Plusvalenze, which led to Juventus’ 15-point deduction in Serie A, was followed by the opening of a criminal investigation into the executives involved, known as Inchiesta Prisma, which is still ongoing.

With a hearing scheduled for April 15 that could lead to further legal proceedings, Corriere della Sera reports that Milan are keen to include an exit clause in Paratici’s contract, allowing them to terminate the deal in the event of a criminal conviction for the former Tottenham director.

The club reportedly considers this a key issue, meaning more work is needed before a final agreement can be reached.

Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani spoke ahead of Milan’s 1-1 draw against Inter in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday, stating that no decision has been made yet, though he admitted they are ‘preparing to strengthen the sporting structure’.
