Manchester United have had an underwhelming Premier League campaign, and manager Ruben Amorim may want a new attacking addition during the ongoing transfer window.
This may coincide with a potential departure, and journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that AC Milan have been offered the opportunity to sign one of United’s outcasts this month.
Amorim has not played Marcus Rashford in any of the last six games in all competitions, and the Rossoneri have reported;y established contact with his representatives.
The Serie A giants have been offered the chance to sign Rashford on loan with an option to purchase.
The Rossoneri are also serious about landing him permanently in future. They believe he can be an ‘ideal player’ for the new project under manager Sergio Conceicao.
The 27-year-old has had a huge turnaround in his career under Amorim. He has fallen out of favour and looks poised to pursue a new challenge away from Old Trafford this winter.
Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are also interested in signing him, but Milan appear to have the upper hand after his representatives travelled to Italy to speak with them.
United reportedly want around £40 million for a future transfer. This may not be a stumbling block for Milan, but Rashford will need to significantly lower his current salary.
Rashford, described as ‘unstoppable‘ by former Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag, receives around £300,000 per week at United.
Alvaro Morata is the highest earner at Milan. The Spaniard earns less than half the Englishman’s salary at around £135,000 weekly.
United may need to compensate part of the wages for a loan transfer. Rashford may have to accept a significant salary reduction for a permanent deal in the long term.
It could also depend on the Red Devils handing him a pay-off to reduce his wage demands at Milan.
