Milan will continue to pursue Santiago Gimenez until the final days of the January window, but they have started to weigh some alternatives for the no.9 role, for instance, Lorenzo Lucca, who’s putting together a career season, Sky reports.
The Rossoneri have shown interest but haven’t opened talks nor tabled an offer for the Udinese striker. He’s been linked especially to Roma in recent days since Claudio Ranieri stated he liked the player. He has bagged 8 goals in 21 Serie A appearances this campaign. He has already matched his personal best barring what he had accomplished in Serie C as a youngster.
Milan earmarked Lucca to be ready if they came up empty-handed in their Gimenez pursuit. Nothing will happen in the next couple of days before the final game of the Champions League group stage.
The Rossoneri will have to tender €37/40M to be successful, Alfredo Pedullà reports. They had already tried for him late in the summer window. Feyenoord rebuffed them but hinted to them and the player that they would try to fulfill his desire to play at San Siro eventually.
The Dutch team has a real shot at making the top 8 as they are 11th with 13 points.
The fact that they are kicking the tires for a fallback isn’t too promising, but they are right in not putting all their eggs in one basket. The Udinese marksman is on an upward trajectory and would be just fine, but they should go after somebody with more star power and goals in his boots to really improve their attack.
