AC Milan did what they had to do against Venezia on Sunday afternoon, winning 2-0 at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

The game started in the best possible way for the Rossoneri when Christian Pulisic scored after being put through on goal by Youssouf Fofana less than five minutes in. Then, in the closing stages, Santiago Gimenez broke his goal drought with a lovely lob from a brilliant Tijjani Reijnders feed.

Getting a top four or even top five spot in Serie A remains difficult, but the important thing is to try build a platform ahead of the Coppa Italia final next month, which remains the best chance at getting into the Europa League.
