Lucho Acosta closes in on staggering MLS scoring feat

Any MLS fan knows the name Lucho Acosta. The FC Dallas and former FC Cincinnati man has been one of the most lethal attackers in the league in recent years.

And against Sporting KC this weekend, Acosta can become just the seventh player in MLS history to record at least 75 career goals and 75 career assists, joining legendary players Landon Donovan, Jaime Moreno, Dwayne De Rosario, Diego Valeri, Preki, and Steve Ralston.

Hugo Cuypers on pace for record scoring streak

The Chicago Fire are a side renewed under Gregg Berhalter, and the play of striker Hugo Cuypers is a major reason for that.

The Belgian has five goals in five games this season, and has scored in four straight.

Should he score this weekend against Montréal, he will become only the third player in club history with goals in five straight games.

Owen Wolff on pace for historic clutch factor

Austin FC have found a gem in Owen Wolff, who is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about young players in the league.

The 20-year-old has been key for Nico Estevez's side this season, coming up clutch when it matters most. Wolff has provided the game-winning assist each of Austin's three victories this season.

Should he replicate that feat once again this weekend against a tough opponent in St. Louis City, Wolff would become only the second player in league history to record four game-winning assists in his team’s first six games of the season.

Orlando City Designated Players remain red-hot

Orlando City have begun the season a bit hot-and-cold. While they've won just two of their opening five games, they have lit up the scoresheet on a regular basis, scoring a league-high 13 goals so far.

That mark is due in large part to the play of their three Designated Players, uis Muriel (two goals, three assists), Martín Ojeda (three goals, three assists), and Marco Pašalić (four goals, one assist).

That triumvirate leads the way in MLS for DP group scoring — and by some distance.
