It appears as though Theo Hernandez might be getting the same treatment as Rafael Leao, with Paulo Fonseca planning to keep him on the bench.
Theo is without a doubt one of the most talked about players at the moment both because of the stories surrounding his renewal but also the fact that his performances on the field have been below his usual high level.
The Frenchman has been far from the elite-level left-back we have learned to appreciate and admire over the years, and the fact he was benched on Sunday against Genoa was a direct consequence of a series of things that Fonseca did not accept.
According to MilanNews, Fonseca’s plan is that the former Real Madrid man will remain on the bench from minute one on Friday evening for the match against Verona at the Stadio MarcAntonio Bentegodi.
This would favour Alejandro Jimenez, who was admittedly one of the best performers on the pitch against Genoa. Nonetheless, the Milan vice-captain still has three training sessions available to be able to change the coach’s mind.
Meanwhile, yesterday Theo’s agent Manuel Garcia Quillon visited the directors at Casa Milan to talk about his client’s situation. Despite the negative trend recently, he reiterated that the desire is to stay and renew.
