AC Milan are preparing for their game against Girona in the Champions League and reports suggest that forgotten man Strahinja Pavlovic could return.
The game against Girona holds significant weight. Not only is it the last game at San Siro in the Champions League league phase, but it could also hold substantial weight in Milan’s hopes for a place in the top eight.
Before the start of the competition, and even after the first few games, you would be forgiven for having no belief in the side about their chances. However, the Diavolo have clawed themselves back into a respectable position.
Despite the stakes in this game, Conceicao will have another ‘reset’ after this weekend’s performance. It is reported that he was left furious by the team, so changes are expected and as Milan News write, Strahinja Pavlovic could be one of those.
At present, the Serbian is likely to replace Fikayo Tomori, who is suspended, so Pavlovic will be given a chance from the first minute to impress the new head coach, alongside Matteo Gabbia – a partnership that was trialled once and never revisited.
It serves as a huge opportunity for Pavlovic, considering he was subject to offers from Turkey, however, if he proves himself to the new coach, a new partnership could blossom.
