AC Milan are in the process of finishing the contract renewals of three-star players, according to recent reports, which will be welcomed by the unhappy fanbase.
This has been a bad season by all accounts and Milan must be proactive and ambitious moving forward to keep fans on board, with protests becoming more frequent and vocal in the past month.
One of the big problems of the supporter base has been the lack of ambition shown by the club financially, with it seeming like the Rossoneri are prioritising accounts over trophies, as a report suggested earlier in the season. However, news of three new contracts could settle things slightly.
As Milan News confirms, the Diavolo are ‘practically done’ when it comes to ‘armouring’ Mike Maignan and Tijjani Reijnders. The Frenchman will see his salary rise to €5 million per season, whilst Reijnders’ new deal should see him pocket €3m a season. Additionally, Christian Pulisic should be given a new deal which will see him earn between €4-5m.
Whether Theo Hernandez will receive a new contract or not is yet to be seen, especially after reports suggesting he could extend his deal and still depart. However, a meeting took place this afternoon between his entourage and Giorgio Furlani, so progress could be made soon.
It was reported that the January mercato would be spent ensuring that key players had renewed, so the news that these deals are in the works is only a positive thing for the upcoming month and beyond.
