New Monza signing Stefan Lekovic has arrived for his medical, but they could offer Milan a lifeline with a triple swoop for Divock Origi, Noah Okafor and Fode Ballo-Toure.

They are rock bottom of the table and sacked coach Alessandro Nesta to bring in Salvatore Bocchetti.

He managed to steer them to only their second Serie A victory of the season, a surprise 2-1 result against high-flying Fiorentina on Monday.

Monza need to take drastic action to avoid the threat of relegation, so CEO Adriano Galliani is hard at work in the January transfer window.

A new buy already arrived today, as Crvena Zvezda defender Stefan Lekovic was greeted at the airport this evening by Monza directors, who presented him with a team scarf.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Villarreal and will have his medical tests tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Calciomercato.com suggest that Monza could propose a triple deal for three unwanted Milan players.

They currently have Origi and Ballo-Toure registered with the Milan Futuro youth team because they are not part of the senior squad.

That means paying their large salaries, which for Origi is €4m per season net until June 2026.

That is beyond Monza’s finances, so the wages would need to be shared with Milan, whereas Ballo-Toure is more likely to make the move at €1m.

Sky Sport Italia also suggest the possibility of a bid for Okafor, whose transfer to RB Leipzig collapsed after he flew out to Germany for a medical.

This would be a loan without the option to make it permanent.
