Matteo Moretto has responded to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning about AC Milan’s sporting director pursuit. Contrary to the newspaper, he said that a director will definitely arrive.

Gazzetta dello Sport took stock of Milan’s sporting director pursuit this morning (see photo below), stating that a decision could be made towards the end of May. Furthermore, the newspaper added that without the right profile, the current structure could remain ‘unchanged’.

Of course, this got the Rossoneri fans going on social media and one of them asked Matteo Moretto about the situation. “No no, one will arrive,” Moretto said in response to the report, certainly calming the situation as he’s considered a lot more reliable than Gazzetta dello Sport.

Igli Tare and Tony D’Amico appear to be the primary targets, with Milan holding meetings with the former as he’s a free agent. For the latter, however, things are more complicated as he’s still under contract with Atalanta.

It remains to be seen how the saga will end but given that next season must be planned well in advance, ideally already now, the CEO Giorgio Furlani doesn’t have loads of time to make up his mind. Hopefully, he knows that.
