Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano shared the news of Dembele’s latest investment with his 23 million followers on X, revealing the announcement in a post that read:

The French forward, who played for two seasons in Scotland under Brendan Rodgers, featured in 94 matches for Celtic after joining the club from Fulham for a small fee of £500,000.

During his tenure in Glasgow’s east end, Dembele netted 51 goals, with standout performances and memorable strikes against theRangers and Manchester City, both in domestic and Champions League action.

In 2016, he made history as the first striker to score a hat-trick in a Glasgow Derby since Harry Hood, leading Celtic to a 5-1 victory trouncing over the Ibrox club. During that campaign, the Frenchman scored 32 goals in 49 matches, helping his side remain unbeaten across all domestic competitions and secure the ‘Invincible Treble.’

Dembele then left Celtic to sign with Lyon in Ligue 1 in 2018 for £20m, where he helped Les Gones reach the Champions League semi-finals, scoring against Manchester City once more, this time in the quarter-finals.

He had a short loan stint at Atletico Madrid during the 2020/21 season before joining Al-Ettifaq in 2023, a club then managed by Steven Gerrard. His former Celtic teammate, Jack Hendry, also plays for the Saudi Arabian side, which is based in Dammam.

Moussa Dembele has netted nine goals in 24 appearances so far this season and is now clearly planning for life after football with his investment into FK Minija.
