Jamal Musiala limps out of Bayern Munich’s game against Augsburg

Jamal Musial limped out of Bayern Munich’s Matchday 28 encounter away to Augsburg on Friday, leaving him doubtful for the first leg of the upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Musiala, who scored Bayern’s equaliser shortly before half-time in Augsburg, sustained the injury while jumping to block an attempted clearance by goalkeeper Finn Dahmen early in the second period.He immediately clutched the back of his left thigh and briefly received treatment on the pitch before being substituted off for Thomas Müller in the 54th minute.

While a precise diagnosis is still to be determined, the sight of the playmaker leaving the pitch will be a worrying one for head coach Vincent Kompany, who has lost first-team regulars Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito to injury in recent weeks.
