According to information from L’Équipe, FC Nantes have been ordered to pay their former head coach Pierre Aristouy €730,000, including €20,000 in moral damages by an industrial tribunal. Aristouy was removed from his role at the end of November 2023 and fired in February this year.
The French outlet writes that the judgement which was made today (the 3rd of December) implied a provisional execution of 50%. This means that Nantes will have to pay half of the €730,000 to its former employee. Nantes have one month in which they can choose to appeal the decision, which L’Équipe believes they will likely do.
Eyes in the North have currently been on the future of Antoine Kombouaré. The current head coach of Nantes was highly expected to be fired over the weekend with recent results leaving the club in the relegation zone, however, he was given a stay of execution following the surprising 1-1 draw with league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
