Paris Saint-Germain may soon be forced into a defensive overhaul. With Milan Škriniar’s potential exit and Presnel Kimpembe still working his way back to full fitness, the club is considering new options. As Marquinhos enters his 30s, PSG could look to infuse youth into their backline.
In 2024, PSG added promising young center-backs Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho to bolster their defense. However, reports suggest the club isn’t done yet, with another defensive target potentially on their radar.
Over the summer, PSG sought to strengthen their defense, pursuing Tomás Araújo late in the transfer window, though the deal ultimately fell through.
A recent report from Foot Mercato reveals that PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos recently held talks with representatives of RC Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov, though no formal offer has been made yet.

The Mirror reports that Newcastle are targeting a move for highly-rated 20-year-old Abdukodir Khusanov of Lens, with the Uzbekistan international expected to cost around £20 million.
Eddie Howe’s side are among several clubs vying for the midfielder’s signature, with Khusanov likely to leave the Ligue 1 club next month as they look to raise funds. Tottenham are also said to be interested, intensifying the competition for the young talent, per the report.
L’Équipe reported that Lens have enlisted Jorge Mendes to manage Khusanov’s potential transfer, with the arrangement set to activate for offers above €25 to €30 million.
