The League One side are currently searching for a new manager following Matt Bloomfield’s move to Luton Town.

Hinshelwood has responded to questions over a potential move to Wycombe, indicating no contact has been made between the two parties.

The 41-year-old has made it clear that he is happy with York, who are currently top of the National League table and eyeing promotion to League Two.

Uggla has claimed that York are as big of a club as Wycombe, and that Hinshelwood understands this, hinting at their desire to see him stay.

He believes that Hinshelwood is someone he wants to work with for a long time, making their stance clear that they do not want to part ways with the manager.

“That comes with success, I’m sure there’s lots of clubs that are looking at him,” said Uggle, via BBC Sport North Yorkshire on Twitter.

“But I think Adam understands, firstly no disrespect to Wycombe, but they’re not a bigger club than York City.

“They might be higher up, but I went there earlier in the year, there’s no way they’re a bigger club than this.

“I think Adam has settled here.

“Adam wants to be here, I want Adam to be here.

“I want to have a really long relationship with him.

“We’re in the middle of trying to tie him down to a new deal that would keep him here for a long time.

“I think that will be resolved in the next couple of weeks and then we can put all that to bed and Adam will be the York City manager for a long time to come.”

Wycombe are competing for promotion to the Championship, and sit second in the League One table.

Wycombe will want manager resolution soon

Wycombe can’t afford to go too long without replacing Bloomfield given the January transfer window is still open, and they are in the thick of a promotion battle.

The team is ticking along nicely without Bloomfield so far, but the longer the wait goes on to replace him the harder this will be.

Wrexham and Huddersfield Town will be putting pressure on them to maintain strong results.

The pursuit of Hinshelwood would make for an interesting appointment, but York have made their stance clear that they want to keep the 41-year-old, so his appointment won’t be straightforward, and alternative targets need to be sought.
