Official: 2 major absences as Barcelona name squad to face Real Madrid | OneFootball

The squad of players called upon by the coaching staff at La Liga giants Barcelona for their upcoming showdown with Real Madrid has been unveiled online.

The latest edition of El Clásico is of course due to play out on Saturday evening.

Spanish football’s two biggest clubs will make the trip to La Cartuja in Seville, to lock horns in the finale of the Copa del Rey.

For Barcelona, the fixture marks a hugely significant one, when it comes to the club’s ongoing efforts to secure a historic treble this season.

In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear of Hansi Flick calling upon a strong squad of players to face Real Madrid.

Missing out, as expected, are the sidelined quartet of Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal.

But returning to matchday duties, in a timely morale boost for Barca, is club captain Marc-André ter Stegen, expected to take his place on the bench tomorrow evening.
