Tedesco was appointed as head coach of the Belgium national team in February 2023 and oversaw the team as they secured qualification to EURO 2024.

The tournament itself was not particularly favourable for the coach or the players, as they finished second in their group containing Ukraine, Romania and Slovakia, before being knocked out by France in a 1-0 loss in the Round of 16.

An underwhelming Nations League campaign followed. There were four losses from six group stage matches, including a 1-0 defeat at home to Italy. The Azzurri also drew 2-2 with 10 men against the Belgian Red Devils back in October after Lorenzo Pellergini’s first-half red card.

The 39-year-old Tedesco, who also has Schalke, Spartak Moscow and RB Leipzig on his CV, is now available for future opportunities.
