Real Madrid announced the squad list for tonight’s game against Real Sociedad a little while ago, with some notable absences such as Kylian Mbappe, Federico Valverde, and Thibaut Courtois.
Also absent was out-of-favour defender Jesus Vallejo, with the club now confirming that the centre-back is sidelined with an injury.
“Following tests carried out on our player Jesús Vallejo by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg. Pending evolution,” the statement from the club read.
Vallejo’s absence is not a cause for concern for Real Madrid considering that he is not a part of manager Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at all.

Indeed, the 28-year-old has played only one time this season – a brief cameo against Deportivo Alaves all the way back in September 2024.
Vallejo has fallen behind youngsters like Raul Asencio and Jacobo Ramon in the pecking order and is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season when his contract expires.
For now, though, the Spaniard will spend some time out on the treatment tables recovering from the injury – his second of the season – after the 28-year-old had missed three matches early in the campaign with a muscle problem.
