According to a report from Ouest-France, two people have been arrested for making a hoax bomb threat during Sunday’s Breton derby between Stade Rennais and FC Nantes.

A man, who said that he was part of Hamas, called the police during the match, towards the start of the second half, between Nantes and Rennes, stating that he had placed a bomb inside the Beaujoire. The authorities traced the call and saw that it originated from Paris. Having found the perpetrators of the hoax call, two men, a 72-year-old and his son, were taken into custody by police, as per Ouest-France’s report.

On the pitch, Nantes secured a vital late victory over Rennes thanks to Moses Simon’s spectacular individual effort. Les Rennais thought that had secured a late equaliser, only for the effort to be ruled out for a handball. In the wake of that decision, SRFC manager Jorge Sampaoli was sent off.
