Raffaele Palladino gives an injury update on Moise Kean and admits he was ‘very worried’ at seeing him stretchered off during defeat to Verona. ‘Health is the most important thing.’
The Viola are in crisis after crashing to a third consecutive Serie A defeat, made all the more remarkable as this run followed a 3-0 victory over Inter.
They had struggled throughout at the Stadio Bentegodi and were eventually beaten in stoppages when Antoine Bernede pounced on a lucky ricochet off Pablo Mari to strike.
“At this moment, we need to shut up and get working,” said Palladino in his press conference.
“I am the first person responsible when things aren’t going right. We are lacking a sense of calm at the moment and we all want to get out of this situation together. We apologise to our fans, we wanted to make them happy and did not manage it.”
Does Palladino feel that he is at risk of dismissal by Fiorentina after three straight losses?
“I feel that the club and players have faith in me. I must try to find a way out of this situation. Things aren’t going the way I would like,” added the coach.
“It was a good first half today with a lot of duels, but we rather lost our shape after the restart. The goal came from giving the ball away in midfield, so we should’ve been more focused. This is certainly a painful defeat.”

The game was overshadowed by the accident to Kean, who was left with a nasty cut to his eyebrow after a three-way collision with two Verona players.
After several minutes of getting patched up on the touchline, he returned to the field only to practically faint, forcing him to be stretchered off with a neck brace and taken to hospital for tests.
“I was very worried on the touchline and hope it is nothing serious. Health is the most important thing,” noted Palladino.
Fiorentina released a statement confirming Kean was taken to a local hospital for further tests and has been diagnosed with head trauma.
Questions will be asked about the Viola medical staff, because Kean’s eye was visibly swollen when he stepped back onto the pitch after stitches were applied to the eyebrow on the touchline.
