Earlier this week, La Liga and the RFEF confirmed that the postponed league game between FC Barcelona and Osasuna will take place on 27 March.

The decision has not gone down too well with both clubs, who have lodged an appeal to get the date changed.

Pedri hits out

Now, speaking to RAC1, Barcelona midfield superstar Pedri has criticised La Liga and the RFEF for their decision to hold the postponed match on 27 March.

After all, Barça are scheduled to play Girona under 72 hours after that in La Liga while the Blaugrana might also be without two key players, Ronald Araujo and Raphinha, as they will still be travelling from South America after playing for their respective national teams.

“The truth is that it’s a bit strange that they have scheduled the match against Osasuna on 27 March. I didn’t know they were actually going to hold the game on that day,” said Pedri.

Continuing, he added: “I don’t understand it very much because Madrid already complained about not playing with less than 72 hours rest.

“And well, I think that LaLiga didn’t have many dates to put it in, but well, not having these two players [in reference to Raphinha and Araujo] I think it hurts us a bit and we’ll see what happens.”

So far, La Liga has not granted the requests of Barcelona and Osasuna, both of whom proposed playing the match in May – the only available window in the Catalans’ packed schedule.

The Blaugrana are still competing in three tournaments, and they have lodged an appeal against the scheduling decision earlier this week. If their appeal does not succeed, the match will take place at Montjuic on Thursday, March 27.
