Pedri responds to Barcelona staff member’s death | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pedri has on Saturday night taken to social media, to confirm his ‘shock’ at the sudden passing of the club’s team doctor.

The latest word stemming from the first-team camp at Barcelona has of course dominated the headlines across all of Spain over the last hour.

This comes after word was forthcoming that Blaugrana team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia had passed on.

In a statement across their website and social media platforms, Barca confirmed that the club’s scheduled fixture with Osasuna this evening had been postponed as a result:

‘FC Barcelona is deeply saddened to announce the passing of first-team doctor Carles Miñarro Garcia this evening. For this reason, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna has been postponed to a later date. The FC Barcelona Board of Directors and all staff extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.’

And as alluded to above, in the time since, a leading member of the midfield ranks at Barca has responded to the news of Carles Miñarro Garcia’s death.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Pedri unveiled a post reading:

‘I still can’t believe it. A big hug for Carles’ family and friends.
