Inter picked up another valuable three points to maintain a clear lead at the top of the Serie A table thanks to a dominant first-half performance in their 2-1 win over Udinese in San Siro, but Kosta Runjaic’s side troubled the Nerazzurri in the second half.
Here are the player ratings from an entertaining early evening match at the Giuseppe Meazza.
Ratings: Sommer 7.5; Pavard 6, Acerbi 6, C.Augusto 6.5; Darmian 6 (Zalewski 6), Frattesi 8 (Barella 6), Calhanoglu 6.5 (Asllani 6), Mkhitaryan 7, Dimarco 8.5 (Bisseck 6); Thuram 6.5, Arnautovic 7.5 (Correa 6).
Best Inter player: Federico Dimarco 8.5 – A fantastic return for the Nerazzurri wing-back on his return from injury. Two carbon copy assists in the first half for Marko Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi. Always such a threat whenever he’s on the ball out on the left flank in the opposition half. Not many, if any, players in the world better than him in that role. So close to finding the top corner with a stunner an hour in, as well. Off to a standing ovation immediately afterwards.

Coach: Simone Inzaghi 6 – While the scoreline was only 2-0, it felt like Inter had created enough to have put the game out of sight by half-time. Arnautovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu all came close, not including the goals that stood. Inter were always threatening whenever they got on the ball, quick in their attacking plays and never really at risk of conceding until the second half – It took a stunner for that to happen. A different game after the triple sub an hour in, but Inzaghi needs to manage his team’s energy levels with Coppa Italia and Champions League commitments still looming.
Headloss minutes before the end, though, picking up an unnecessary red card when he had already been cautioned.
Ratings: Okoye 5.5; Kristensen 5.5, Bijol 6.5, Solet 7; Ehizibue 6.5, Atta 6 (Payero 6.5), Karlstrom 5 (Zarraga 6), Lovric 5 (Bravo 6), Kamara 5.5 (Modesto 6.5); Ekkelenkamp 6 (Pafundi 6); Lucca 6.5.
Best Udinese player: Oumar Solet 7 – Even when they were two down, Solet looked the most determined of the Udinese players. He showed a willingness to step out of his line and press Inter, played the ball nicely out of the back for the most part, and capped off a decent individual display with his first Udinese and Serie A goal – A beauty at that, slammed into the far corner from 25 yards out.

Coach: Kosta Runjaic 6 – There wasn’t much he could do to stop the Inter onslaught in the first-half, but credit where it is due, Udinese tightened after the break, and ended up ‘winning’ the second half 1-0. Inzaghi’s subs were necessary, but Inter slowed down afterwards, while Runjaic’s changes helped Udinese get back into the game. It took a top-tier save from Yann Sommer to stop Lorenzo Lucca making it 2-2 midway through the second period.
