Postecoglou to make shock defensive decision amid piling injuries | Tottenham predicted XI v Wolves | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur are in a rot, and with Wolverhampton Wanderers enjoying a new lease of life thanks to their new manager bounce, Wolves can pile on the misery when they clash in North London tomorrow.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has come under fire for their poor results this term. After missing out on UEFA Champions League football last year despite a healthy start, they were expected to mount a serious challenge this season but have lost half of their Premier League games (P18 W2 D7 L9).

Tottenham have lost four of their last five Premier League games, winning only once in their previous six while sitting 12th on the league log. Postecoglou’s devil-may-care approach has come under scrutiny, with pundits criticising his methods for their madness.

However, Spurs have also been ravaged by injuries. Postecoglou is still without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies. Djed Spence is suspended for this fixture after being sent off for two bookable offences in the 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in their previous outing.

Guglielmo Vicario, Mikey Moore, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert remain on the treatment table. Meanwhile, Postecoglou said it’s still a bit early to tell about Radu Dragusin’s availability for the Wolves game.

The recent history between Tottenham and Wolves also doesn’t favour Spurs. They have lost their last three Premier League games against Wolves. Spurs have only won once in their previous five league meetings.

In their last clash at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, a Joao Gomes brace put Spurs to the sword, and they must bring their A-game to tomorrow against a Wolves side coming off two successive wins since hiring Vitor Pereira.

With Vicario out, Fraser Forster should continue between the posts and will hopefully put in a more assured performance than his recent calamities.

Pedro Porro is a mainstay at right-back, with Destiny Udogie opposite him. The main quandary for Postecoglou is in central defence. He has reportedly tested Yves Bissouma in the rearguard (lol), and Archie Gray will likely partner him.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, and Dejan Kulusevski should run the rule in the engine room with Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson on the flanks. Dominic Solanke is fit enough and should lead the line in attack.
