Premier League clubs have been placed on alert amid the news that Aleksandar Mitrovic could leave Al-Hilal this summer.

The Saudi champions are plotting to sign a marquee forward this summer and the arrival of a new signing could pave Mitrovic’s exit.

Victor Osimhen is a player on Al-Hilal’s radar and the Nigerian is understood to be open to a transfer to the Saudi Pro League. Al-Hilal have a huge budget to reallocate after a failed attempt to persuade Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to the division.

As a result, transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Mitrovic could seek a return to European football after two goal-laden seasons at Al-Hilal. The former Fulham forward has scored 62 goals in 72 games for Al-Hilal since his £50m move to the club in 2023.

His debut season saw Mitrovic score 40 goals in all competitions, with only Cristiano Ronaldo outscoring the forward in the Saudi Pro League. His goals were crucial to a successful season for Al-Hilal, who won the title, King’s Cup and Saudi Super Cup.

Several Premier League teams are pursuing centre-forwards this summer and Mitrovic’s availability and proven record in the division will appeal. The 30-year-old has also netted a national record 59 goals in 98 caps for the Serbian national team.
