Gameweek 30 has only just finished, but attention must quickly turn to Gameweek 31. This weekend’s action is spread across three days, starting with Arsenal‘s trip to face Everton on Saturday afternoon. It ends on Monday as Leicester City host Newcastle United.

Of course, the highlight of the weekend is the Manchester derby. Manchester United host rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, looking to complete the league double over their noisy neighbours. Liverpool will also be looking to take a step closer to the title when they take on Fulham.

Everton vs Arsenal

Arsenal go into this game unbeaten in four in the Premier League, securing back-to-back wins either side of the international break. And the Gunners have a decent recent record against Everton, unbeaten in their past four meetings, winning three alongside one draw. Everton also go into this game having seen their long unbeaten run come to an end at the hands of Liverpool in midweek.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

We could see history this weekend when Crystal Palace host Brighton and Hove Albion. Brighton have lost just one of their past seven away league games, winning four and drawing three. Crystal Palace have won their past two home league games, and 41% of their matches at Selhurst Park under Oliver Glasner — the second-most record for the Eagles in the Premier League. But, each of the past five Premier League games between Crystal Palace and Brighton at Selhurst Park have finished 1-1. No specific fixture in English top-flight history has finished by the exact same scoreline in six consecutive meetings before.

Ipswich vs Wolves

This could be the end of the relegation battle. Although it won’t mathematically be over, a win for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Ipswich Town would see them move 12 points clear of the Tractor Boys with seven games left to play. Things aren’t looking good for Ipswich, who have lost each of their past five home league games, while Wolves have won their past two on the road. But Ipswich did win the reverse fixture 1-2.

West Ham vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth head to the London Stadium in terrible form. The Cherries are winless in their past five Premier League games, losing four of those. They go into this game off the back of consecutive defeats, including one against relegation-battling Ipswich in midweek. West Ham United are also winless in three, with two defeats either side of a draw. But the Hammers like playing Bournemouth. West Ham are unbeaten in their past eight games against Bournemouth, winning four. The Hammers have already beaten the Cherries at the London Stadium in the Carabao Cup this season.

Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have won their past three games to sit comfortably in the top four. Aston Villa have now won their past two and three of their past four, finding form at the right time in the top four battle. And they’ll be thankful that this game is at Villa Park. Unai Emery’s men are unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League home games, since losing to Arsenal in August. This is despite conceding first in seven of those 14 matches.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Nottingham Forest (7/1 with Sky Bet)

Brentford vs Chelsea

Chelsea returned from the international break with a win, and they’ve won three of their past four games. But that defeat came in their only away game. And the Blues have been terrible on the road, now winless in seven in the league away from Stamford Bridge. They’ve also scored just three goals in their past seven away league games. Brentford, meanwhile, are winless in their past seven home league games. And they’ve scored just one goal in their past four at home.

Prediction: Brentford 1-1 Chelsea (6/1 with Paddy Power)

Fulham vs Liverpool

Liverpool are just 13 points away from the Premier League title, and they’re on a good run. The Reds are unbeaten in their past 17 away league games, with 15 of those coming this season. During those 15 matches, Liverpool have scored 38 goals, averaging 2.53 per game. Fulham have won just one of their last 13 Premier League games against Liverpool, and are winless in their past six at Craven Cottage in this fixture. But, Fulham have scored in nine of their past 10 games against Liverpool.

Prediction: Fulham 1-3 Liverpool (14/1 with CopyBet)

Tottenham vs Southampton

Article image:Premier League predictions – Gameweek 31: Man Utd to complete double

Tottenham Hotspur are winless in their past four Premier League games, losing three. It leaves them 13th in the table, closer to the relegation zone than the top four. But they will look to return to winning ways against relegation-bound Southampton. Saints have won just two games all season and have both the worst defence and worst attack in the Premier League. Tottenham have also won 12 of their past 15 home league games against Southampton.

Prediction: Tottenham 3-0 Southampton (9/1 with Betano)

Man Utd vs Man City

Article image:Premier League predictions – Gameweek 31: Man Utd to complete double

The big game of the weekend, Man Utd may be confident going into their meeting with Man City. Now, the Red Devils do go into this game off the back of a defeat to Nottingham Forest, leaving them 13th. And they have taken just two points from eight games against sides starting the day in the top-half of the Premier League. But Man Utd are unbeaten in their past three games against Man City across all competitions, and have already beat their rivals this season. Man City have also lost six of their past 11 Premier League away games, and are winless in their past two.

Newcastle have found form at the right time. The Magpies have won three of their past four league games to sit sixth, just two points outside the top four. And they have a game in hand. They face a Leicester side on the brink of history. The Foxes are just the fourth team in English top-flight history to lose seven consecutive league games without scoring. They’ve also lost their last seven home league games without scoring, with no team ever losing eight consecutive home matches to nil.
