Plymouth Argyle and Norwich City go head-to-head at Home Park this Saturday in the EFL Championship.
Plymouth Argyle have 34 points to their name this season and occupy 24th position in the table. In their last outing, Miron Muslic's team drew 0-0 against Watford.
Norwich City have picked up 52 points and currently lie in 10th position. In their last match, Johannes Thorup's team prevailed 1-0 against West Bromwich (EFL Championship 2024/2025), thanks to an injury-time winner from Josh Sargent.
The last meeting between the two teams ended with in a thumping 6-1 for Norwich.
Tom Sleeman: Dead but not quite yet buried would be a fair assessment of Plymouth Argyle as they head into Saturday's clash with Norwich City, knowing that anything other than three points will likely resign Miron Muslic's side to relegation. Last weekend's 0-0 draw with Watford proved too little as fellow strugglers Luton, Derby, Stoke and Portsmouth all picked up victories with just seven games left in this Championship season with the club seven points adrift of safety.
The Pilgrims were given a triple injury boost with defender Julio Plegezuelo as well as attacking duo Ryan Hardie and Muhamed Tijani both overcoming injuries. Argyle will need to take confidence from Norwich's recent form - just two wins in their last nine. The Devon side will have to show resilience in defence once more with Canaries duo Borja Sainz and Josh Sargent having already combined for 30 goals this season. A showing, similar to that of the Watford encounter should suffice.
Lucas La Torre (The Brazilian Canaries): Our last-gasp winner against West Brom last weekend was a surprise, but a very welcome one!
Defensively I think we are still suspect, even though Gunn has returned in goal, but our focus now has to be solely on winning - and I think we will manage that against Plymouth.
Josh Sargent will again be key for us after his matchwinner at Carrow Road. He has been amazing for us, and we need him to maintain his goalscoring form. The tactical switch of playing three at the back worked, as our full-backs were able to push up and allow us to control midfield. Hopefully we can do something similar against Plymouth, though I fancy it will be a tighter game than last time.
