Paris Saint-Germain are dominant on the pitch, whilst their financial supremacy off the pitch has also been revealed in a report from L’Équipe.
PSG are 19 points clear of second-placed side Olympique de Marseille and could wrap up the Ligue 1 title as early as this weekend, should Luis Enrique’s side win and results elsewhere go their way. It perhaps should come as no surprise given their financial means, which have been laid bare in L’Équipe’s annual salary report.
All of the top 10 earners in Ligue 1 are PSG players. Ousmane Dembélé tops the list. The France international earns €1.5m per month, followed by captain Marquinhos (€1.2m). Achraf Hakimi (€1.1m) and Lucas Hernandez are joint-third, ahead of Warren Zaïre-Emery (€950,000), Vitinha (€900,000), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€900,000), Gianluigi Donnarumma (€849,500), Nuno Mendes (€800,000) and the forgotten man, Presnel Kimpembe (€640,000), who rounds out the top 10.
Bradley Barcola (€550,000) is 11th and Désiré Doué (€500,000) 12th, alongside the first non-PSG player, Marseille’s Adrien Rabiot, who also earns the same amount as teammate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Olympique Lyonnais captain Alexandre Lacazette. 13 of the 20 highest-earning players in Ligue 1 play for Les Parisiens.
Luis Enrique is the highest-earning manager in Ligue 1. In February, he signed a contract extension and he now earns €1m per month, almost double the amount of the second-highest earner, Roberto De Zerbi (€550,000). Lyon’s Paulo Fonseca (€320,000), who joined in January, rounds off the podium.
