The future of Marquinhos remains uncertain as L’Équipe recently reported there are growing concerns within PSG that Marquinhos could leave the club despite being under contract until June 2028.

Furthermore, the Brazilian international is reportedly tempted by a potential move to Saudi Arabia, where a massive offer could await him. Marquinhos’s departure wouldn’t be surprising, as the capital club is injecting youth into its backline.

Over the last couple of transfer windows, PSG have added Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho and if Marquinhos does leave, the French side will need to be in the market for a center-back this summer if they weren’t already.

What player could PSG replace Marquinhos with?

To replace Marquinhos, PSG could turn to a former AJ Auxerre standout. According to Il Corriere dello Sport (h/t Le10Sport), Evan Ndicka is a highly rated player by the Paris club.

However, they would need to convince AS Roma, as Ndicka is under contract until 2028 and is currently valued at €25 million by Transfermarkt.

Presnel Kimpembe and Lucas Hernandez are coming back from injuries, and it will be interesting to see if the reigning Ligue 1 champions decide to count on them next season. If one of them is gone, PSG could be in the market for two defenders.
