Paris Saint-Germain and SL Benfica have found an agreement for the transfer of Portugal international midfielder João Neves (19), according to a report this Wednesday from L’Equipe. Les Parisiens‘ outlay to lure the 19-year-old midfielder reportedly rises to €70m including bonuses. Neves’ release clause was estimated at €120m. Neves was billed as a priority target for PSG to strengthen their midfield options. The SL Benfica youth product is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions.
Neves is set to reunite with fellow Portuguese internationals Danilo Pereira (32), Nuno Mendes (22), Vitinha (24) and Gonçalo Ramos (23) at the Parc des Princes. However, PSG midfielder Renato Sanches (26) is set to spend the next season on loan at Benfica. Neves will be the second signing of Paris’ summer transfer window after the arrival of Russian goalkeeper Matvei Safonov (25).
