Carlos Soler is on West Ham United’s radar as the summer transfer deadline approaches. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding the 27-year-old, who has some suitors as the player isn’t a part of PSG’s plans this 2024-25 season.
L’Equipe revealed earlier this month that West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Real Sociedad are keen on Soler. However, recent information would lead many to believe the Hammers have taken the edge in this race.
Still, this deal isn’t over, and it leaves room for any club to swoop in and hijack the player from West Ham’s grasp. Journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin revealed Thursday that Everton have joined West Ham in expressing strong interest in Soler.
A potential bidding war between two Premier League clubs is a welcome sight for PSG, the report concluded. Amid swirling rumors, Romano provided the latest on the Soler file in his latest column for CaughtOffside.
“I only know that West Ham are working to sell some players, but nothing more than this at the moment,” Romano wrote. “Let’s see in the next days, as I don’t have anything imminent on outgoings yet. For Carlos Soler, West Ham keep working and advancing as they want him, and talks took place on both the club and player side.”
A move away from PSG is ideal for Soler as he attempts to get back on the radar of Spain manager Luis de la Fuente. In the 2023-24 season, Soler made 26 appearances in all competitions for the French club, scoring once and contributing four assists.
