Former Hibs midfielder Marvin Bartley has said that he expects ex-Celtic boss Neil Lennon to make more signings that will shock people. The Irishman has not even taken charge of his first game but signed Victor Wanyama for his Dunfermline stint.
Speaking to Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Bartley was impressed at the quality of the signing by Dunfermline but he tipped Lennon to make more signings.
“It’s a massive signing, It’s just the experience that he’ll add in there. I’ve watched Dunfermline a couple of times, and they’ve got so many young players that whenever they concede, they just seem to crumble.
“Neil Lennon on the side will be manager, and Victor will be on the pitch trying to do the same thing.
“I don’t think he’ll be the only signing they’ll make as well. By all accounts, I think there’s going to be a couple more going in on free transfers that will shock people.”
Wanyama was in Tottenham’s squad that were beaten by Liverpool in the Champions League Final in 2019. There is no doubting the size of this signing by Dunfermline.
Gary Hooper and Adam Matthews could be looking at a move to Fife to help keep the Pars in the Championship. The former Celtic pair have linked up with Lennon again in his managerial past. Lennon will meet his former skipper and club legend Scott Brown when the teams meet on Saturday afternoon. Lennon will be looking to clip Broony’s wings but it is a particularly tough ask given Ayr United’s fine form.
