Rashford enjoying his time at 'magnificent' Aston Villa according to Paul Gascoigne

Without question, Marcus Rashford is looking better and playing with more confidence at Aston Villa. Currently on loan from Manchester United, his parent club appears more than willing to part ways with the England international. It has been, after all, under Unai Emery that the forward has looked like a top-quality player.

As seen against Newcastle, being part of a squad that forces the best out of everyone and not knowing how the starting XI will look is bringing out the best in everyone. Coming on for the final portion of the game, with the result in hand, Rashford still looked like a threat to give the hosts at Villa Park a fifth.

On Saturday his actions may not have led to a direct goal contribution, but the few months with the club have seen plenty of moments where he looks refreshed and unlocked playing for Emery. A lot can happen between now and the summer, and the Financial Fair Play and PSR aspects are a real potential hindrance. If all goes the way the club would want it to go, however, Rashford will have found his permanent home in Birmingham.

Words from Gascoigne on current Villa player

Speaking with PokerScout, Paul Gascoigne spoke on a number of topics with the self-described 'all-in-one website.' With the conversation ranging from the current England national team to his own playing days, 'Gazza' also shared his thoughts on Rashford as a Villan.

With Gascoigne's approval, the former Newcastle and Tottenham midfielder pointed out what he's observed of the 27-year-old since entering the club in January. He explained during his interview:

"His attitude is just wanting to play football, and he seems like he’s playing with a smile on his face... Aston Villa is a magnificent club."

This sense of liberation is what most are able to recognize with Rashford. Playing at United didn't suit him under Erik ten Hag or now under Ruben Amorim. Now with Emery, he's able to play with a certain level of joy and is looking sharp in the Spaniard's system.

Different circumstances and environments can produce varying outcomes for players. The change of scenery and being in this competitive environment, looking to be selected among the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers, like with others, is showing the best versions of everyone throughout the roster, including Rashford.

There isn't a situation that offers everything for anyone. At Villa, the field players want more playing time. The positives should outweigh the negatives, however. Being able to enjoy going to work again and playing with a certain level of freedom while being put in a position to succeed as a team and individually appears to be the right recipe for Rashford moving forward.
