A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Real Betis has reached an agreement with the club, regarding a contract extension.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Bartra as the player in question.
Stopper Bartra, for his part, has continued to play an important role for Manuel Pellegrini’s Betis across the season to date.
All told, despite a couple of injury issues along the way, the former Barcelona man has racked up 26 appearances across all competitions, all but four of which came from the off.
And along the way, Bartra evidently did enough to convince those behind the scenes at the Estadio Benito Villamarín of his readiness to continue contributing over the seasons ahead.
The 34-year-old’s current contract terms are due to expire this coming summer.
As per MD, though:
‘Bartra has reached an agreement with the club to extend his contract until June 2027.’
