Real Madrid’s recent affair against Atletico Madrid once again highlighted the importance of having Rodrygo in the team, especially when it comes to European competitions.

The Brazilian international scored the important opener, which helped Real Madrid secure a narrow 2-1 win over Los Colchoneros.

During the celebration, Rodrygo also made it clear that the forward is not going anywhere, after being closely linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu last summer.

Rodrygo is here to stay

According to MARCA, Rodrygo is happy at Real Madrid and does not see any reason to leave the Bernabeu anytime soon.

Although Kylian Mbappe’s arrival in the summer led to speculation over his future at the club, Rodrygo has improved througout the campaign and is now a crucial entity within the Madrid frontline.

The Brazilian has racked up 13 goals and eight assists so far this season, with the forward often turning up as the game changer in European matches.

As a matter of fact, Rodrygo’s goal against Atletico extended his UCL goals tally to 25, with the Brazilian becoming the fifth youngest player to reach that mark.

Real Madrid, therefore, consider Rodrygo as a key piece of the puzzle. As such, there won’t be any speculation over the attacker’s future in the coming summer.

Manchester City and Saudi Arabian clubs are among the potential suitors for Rodrygo, should he leave the club. But unless something drastic happens, the player will to remain a crucial part of the Real Madrid frontline for the 2025/26 campaign.

Not to mention, the former Santos starlet still has three years left on his contract. His idea is to continue fighting for a place in the team and establish himself as untouchable – such as Mbappe and Vinicius.
