Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich in recent months, with reports from Germany suggesting a transfer nearly materialized last summer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also said to be eyeing Kimmich, along with Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, as they aim to bolster their midfield and defense ahead of the 2025 season.

Journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl recently disclosed that Bayern Munich have stopped trying to persuade Kimmich to accept a pay cut from his €20 million annual salary.

With his contract expiring next year and growing interest from other top clubs, it appears unlikely that Kimmich will agree to a reduced salary.

According to BILD (via SPORT), Real Madrid continue to view Kimmich as a potential replacement for Toni Kroos. The 29-year-old German international is in the final year of his contract with Bayern and has yet to agree on a renewal despite lengthy discussions.

Kimmich is reportedly focused on staying with Bayern and recently met with club executives, though he has not made a final decision. Meanwhile, Bayern’s management is said to be growing frustrated with the delay in his decision, which could pave the way for his departure.

While Barcelona had shown interest in Kimmich, the report claims they have withdrawn due to his wage demands.
